This Weeks Facebook Column (so you don’t have to go on fb)

On a small tree in the large forest out back…

…one tiny leaf hangs on.

Hangs on.

Battered, bruised, falling apart…

…like us.

Us.

One by one the leaves fall.

Until one day when all the leaves are gone.

Until one day when all the trees are gone.

Until one day when all the forests are gone.

Until one day when all of us…

Us: The average lifespan of a civilization is about 340 years.

Us: The average lifespan of an empire 240 years.

US: The United States 250 years so far.

To know the future is to know of the past.

It is all up to us, to you.

Everybody hurts, everybody wants, everybody believes…

…but take a moment to know of the past…

…ain’t nothing new here.

For hundreds of years the biggest enemy of civilizations…

…are the people within it.

Just want you to think about that…

…we build civilizations…

…and we take them down.

Over, and Over Again.

Up to you.
