NBC Sports Hat...

…found in a box…

…30 some years old.

I spent a couple years at WPXI in Pittsburgh covering all sorts of things. To be honest it was one of most favorite stops in my career.

I worked in the Local Programing department writing/producing all sorts of different stories, worked with the Steelers/Penguins/Pirates…

…the only thing that kind of sucked was I lived in Buffalo, NY at the time, only a couple of hours north but I would work Mon-Fri, drive home Friday night, stay the weekend and drive back to Pittsburgh monday morning…as tough as it was on me it was even worse on Barb and the kids.

ESPN saw a couple of the stories I did there and offered my a job to move to Bristol as a Feature Producer…I turned it down…I really like WPXI and the folks I worked with but…

…a couple months later ESPN again offered me a job…more money…would move my family and our stuff to CT…

…and so sometime in late 1993 we packed up all our stuff and moved to Farmington where we have been ever since. Quick side note: Just the other day I found out that the guy who brought me to WPXI from Florida where we lived at the time, Mark Barish, past awhile ago…sad…he was the guy who called me in Florida and offered me the job (we knew each other from KFSN in Fresno where we both worked) and that one phone call lead to all the success I’ve had in the last three decades. R.I.P. Mark…and Thank You.
